Download Blackbird

One file. Updates arrive inside the app from here on.

Download the APK Android 7.0+

Installing

Three taps

  1. Open the file

Android asks whether to allow installs from your browser. Allow it, and you land back on the install screen.

  2. Install anyway

Play Protect will say it does not recognise the app. It flags anything it has not seen distributed at scale — a statement about how common the app is, not about what is in it.

  3. Sign in

Email and a code, or a username and a password.

The browser permission is per-app and yours to revoke immediately afterwards. Blackbird asks for its own only when it installs an update, and says why before sending you to that screen.

Afterwards

Updates take care of themselves

Blackbird checks on launch, shows what changed, verifies the download against the server's fingerprint, and installs it.

Dismiss one and it waits — a patch three days, a release a day, a major update twelve hours. Or check whenever you like from Settings.

Other platforms

Android only

No iOS, desktop or web client, and none in progress. Distributing outside the App Store is not practical for independent work, and there is no point promising a date for something unstarted.
