Blackbird is provided by DEX, an individual. By creating an account you agree to what follows. It is short on purpose.
The service
Blackbird is offered free of charge and without a guarantee of availability. It is run by one person on one server. It may be unavailable, may lose data, and may change or stop entirely. Do not use it as the only place something important is stored.
Your account
- You are responsible for what is sent from your account and for keeping access to it secure.
- One person, one identity: usernames and email addresses each belong to a single account and cannot be transferred between accounts.
- You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, and at least 13.
What you may not do
- Send material that is illegal where you or the recipient are, or that sexualises children.
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate someone.
- Send bulk unsolicited messages, or use an account to distribute malware.
- Attack the service — attempt to break into other accounts, overload the server, or bypass its limits.
An account doing any of these may be suspended or removed, usually without notice, because there is no support team to run an appeal process. If you think that was a mistake, write and say so.
Your content
What you send stays yours. Nothing you send is used to train a model, advertised against, or shared beyond delivering it to the people you sent it to and keeping it available to you.
Ending it
You can delete your account from within the app at any time, which removes your messages from the server. The service may also be discontinued; if that is planned rather than sudden, notice will be given in the app.
No warranty
Blackbird is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, DEX is not liable for loss arising from using it, including lost messages or unavailability. Some jurisdictions do not allow that exclusion, in which case it applies as far as it legally can.
Changes
These terms may change. The date above changes with them, and material changes are noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use Blackbird after a change means accepting it.
